WAYNE
BARTLETT, BARITONE
Wayne Bartlett
sings the baritone part for Greater Cause and owns and
manages the group.
He learned to sing and play gospel music at a young
age, beginning at a small church in Hoschton, GA.
“At about age 8, I would watch my Aunt Wanda play the
piano and pick along with my guitar.
I then learned to play the piano “by ear”, and my
mother and I would sing an occasional special at the
church”. At age
16, Wayne joined the Songsmen Quartet from Gainesville, GA,
led by renowned pianist and singer, Frank Smith.
“Frank was really the person that taught me the most
about playing the piano, bass, and singing. Frank was a great man and awesome quartet man.
He could play anything, and he had strong influence
on my musical career”.
From 1985 to
1998 Wayne was a member of several groups, including the
Homeland Boys, Southern Spirit and the Gerald Sweatman
Family.
In 1999, Wayne formed the group PureHarmony.
PureHarmony enjoyed success on major concert venues
and the national radio charts from 1999 until 2005.
“My greatest thrill so far was being on stage at the
annual Singing in the Smokies with The Inspirations.
I’ll never forget Martin Cook of the Inspirations
calling me early one morning to ask my group to come up and
sing on the mountain.
We performed there for two years and had a great time
meeting thousands of fans.”
Wayne
graduated in 1985 from North Georgia College with a double
major in Economics and Finance and co-owns a real estate
brokerage and development firm. He resides in Winder, GA

CHUCK PETTYJOHN, TENOR
Chuck is originally from the small community of Free Home
near Cumming, GA. It was there that He fell in love with
Gospel music. He knew that this was what God had called him
to do and that God had given him the talent to sing the
tenor part. Chuck trained under renowned Opera
singer/teacher Clair Begrein in Asheville, NC. This led to
the opportunity to go to South Africa to be part of an opera
house.
After much thought and prayer, Chuck decided to stay in
Southern Gospel and follow his calling. He started singing
full-time with the Melodyairs Quartet, traveling and
ministering in song to people in several states and in the
Bahamas. Chuck then received a call from the Proclaimers to
join them in their efforts. During this time they were on a
weekly TV show and were part of the Gaither Homecoming
Concert series. This is where Chuck and Slade first met.
A few year ago, Chuck started talking to long-time friend
Wayne Bartlett about starting a new venture--"Southern
Gospel with a purpose," they said. It was through these
conversations that PureHarmony was formed. Chuck has always
had great success making new friends everywhere he goes. His
'never met a stranger' attitude and high, clear tenor voice
make him a favorite with audiences. One girl in particular
liked him so well that she became his wife! Chuck met his
bride Shawna at the first Gospel concert that PureHarmony
presented. Two years after they were married, God blessed
them with their first child.
Chuck came off the road to help raise his family. He and
Shawna are parents to two beautiful girls, Hannah and
Rebekah. In Christmas of 2005 they moved their growing
family to a larger home in Winder, GA. Not long afterward,
Wayne called Chuck and started talking about singing once
again. This time they called on Greg to fill the lead part,
and Greater Cause was formed.

Gospel of Jesus Christ. Greg has been a minister at the
Winder Wesleyan Church for the past 20 years. He came to
Winder back in 1989 as Minister of Music, and one year later
added Youth Ministry to his passions. Five years later, Greg
became the Senior Pastor, and still serves as the Minister
of Music.
"I have always had a love for music. As a little boy, my
parents would stand me on tables and I would sing about
Zacchaeus." As he grew, his love for music continued to
grow. He was involved with choirs at church and school, and
was honored with First Chair at the State level of
competition in western Pennsylvania his senior year.
Soon after graduation, God began to make His call known in
Greg's life. "Once I submitted my will to His, God opened
the doors to receive a music scholarship." Greg attended and
graduated from United Wesleyan College in Allentown, PA,
with a double major in Pastoral Ministry and Sacred Music.
While there, he traveled for four years, singing with the
Chapel Singers and the New Covenant Singers. After

GA.
It was at college, that Greg met his beautiful wife, Pam.
They were married in 1987 and have enjoyed 21 years of
serving the Lord together. "God has blessed us with six
beautiful children, while we've raised seven. Amy, Jessica,
Hannah, Noah, Rachel, Joshua, and Selah."
Greg sings lead for Greater Cause. "It has always been a
desire of mine to minister in a music group like this. I'm
blessed to be able to share three great loves: first,
my love for the Lord, second, my love for my wife, and
third, my love of music. May God bless you through the
ministry of Greater Cause."
